BIGC Bursary Policy
The Bowen Island Gymnastics Club (BIGC) recognizes that the cost of club membership is sometimes too high for
gymnasts and their families to accommodate. We want to promote access for all persons and abilities to our
club. Gymnasts/families in these situations are encouraged to reach out and inform BIGC of such situations.
BIGC commits to working with each and every gymnast/family that contacts us in this regard to find alternative
funding to suit each specific condition.
BIGC will provide each gymnast/family with Local, Provincial and Federal funding resources that are designed to
aid in these situations. The gymnast/family may then contact and work with these groups to pursue funding
opportunities. BIGC will remain available help review family/gymnast applications before they are submitted, if
requested to do so.
If a gymnast/family is unable to successfully obtain adequate funding through the resources references
provided, BIGC commits to discussing the situation on a case-by-case basis with the gymnast/family to find an
agreeable solution, in the spirit of maintaining program access to all persons and abilities.
