Presented in partnership with The Hearth Arts on Bowen, the evening will showcase original artwork inspired by the ocean, mountains, wildlife, island life and the unique character of our West Coast home.
100% of art auction proceeds will support the Bowen Island Gymnastics Club’s journey to the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal.

The heart of the auction
Art Inspired by Howe Sound
Howe Sound is at the heart of this fundraiser.
The Bowen Island Gymnastics Club’s World Gymnaestrada performance, Magical Ocean Journey, celebrates our connection to this place through movement, music, choreography and storytelling.
Local artists have been invited to interpret Howe Sound in their own way. Their work may reflect the landscape, ocean, mountains, wildlife, community or simply what this remarkable place means to them.
The auction gives the community an opportunity to celebrate that creativity while helping our gymnastics team take this story from Bowen Island to the world.

Why it matters
The Journey to Portugal
The Bowen Island Gymnastics Club has been awarded a prestigious 10-minute performance slot at the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal, an opportunity awarded to only five Canadian teams.
The team includes participants ranging in age from 11 to 56 and has spent years developing its performance, with choreography inspired by Bowen Island and Howe Sound.
A spectacular 12-foot whale puppet, handcrafted on Bowen Island by local artists Liz Nankin and Paul Hoosan, is one of the centrepieces of the performance and will travel with the team to Portugal.
The team is now fundraising to make this extraordinary journey possible.
Come for the Art. Support the Journey.
Sound & Motion brings together local artists, inspiring speakers and the Bowen Island community for an evening celebrating the place we call home.
Browse. Bid. Bring a piece of Howe Sound home.
